A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

You do what super basic men do.

You run around in a temple-like structure in the jungle shooting robots and slimy things. Canons will shoot at you and for whatever reason someone has left useful weapons in treasure chests scattered across the scene. They are locked but the keys are floating around in the air somewhere near. If it only wasn't for the spikes and the lava on the ground. Oh, and you're looking for a huge shiny gemstone of course.

This is my first finished game after fiddling around with GameMaker and Unity for 2 years.

I made this as a 4-week-finish-a-game-challenge.

There's a good chance of me coming back to this project after a while and expanding on it. In the meantime I will probably try out other stuff like a top-down GTA 2-like game or a simple 3D PS1 style adventure.

I hope you enjoy this little game.

I concur that this game needs a save system and map. I was alright until shortly after obtaining the arrow and discovering health isn't recovered at death. Until then, things looped around and the absence of enemies etc helped my track where I had already been.

However, I'm stuck where to go. There's a skull gate to the left and the skull is further left, as seen thru the walls but I can't figure out how to get there. I travelled left past a large spike wall but there are dead ends that way. EDIT: found someone else in the comments in the same spot. The skull was disguised/hidden in plain sight.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised it works with my gamepad except for SPACE and BACKSPACE.

Thanks for the info and the game!

Thanks for playing!

I started working on an update a while back, but it turned into a whole new project.

Now I’m back to working on an update, but this time I’ll stay true to the original. It will be a restorative update with full controller support, saving, a map, bug fixes and performance improvements.

is there a save system here?

Hey! Unfortunately not. But I will probably come back to this project and expand upon it once I have the time. I'll add saving to the feature list.

cool game, even though easy to get lost sometimes without a map :-)

Thanks. :)
Yeah, my game- and level-design skills need the most work. Will implement a map and a more elaborate world in a future version.

Hi, I'm really enjoying your game so far! I love the sense of exploration and how you reward the player with shortcuts to different places across the map. I also like how new abilities like the bouncer add freshness to old areas, giving the player access to places they couldn't reach before. Also the art is really beautiul and creates a great mood. As a beginning game devolper I am amazed at your work.

P.S. I'm having a little bit of trouble getting past this door (It's in the eatern lower area of the map). Could you tell me what I'm missing? I've scoured that map and I don't seem to be able to find the skull to open it. Great game and thanks a lot!

Thanks for the kind words! Means a lot. :)

The skull is hidden in the room you're standing in.
Jump up until you reach the third segment of the large waterfall. There is a cave you can only access with the bouncer. The skull is placed inside the wall.

Found it and beat the game! Thanks again and great work.

Oh, thank goodness. That's where I'm stuck atm.

It's a great game, but sometimes it feels difficult to control the character because of the time it needs to jump and due to sliding off some edges.

Thanks! Yeah, movement is definitely one of the harder parts and something that needs to be refined in the future.

SOLO LO PUDE PROBAR POR UNOS SEGUNDOS Y ES MUY ENTRETENIDO PERO LO ESTOY JUGANDO EN UNA LAPTOP Y NO ME DEJA USAR EL ARMA. SE QUE ES DIFICIL HACER LO QUE PEDIRE, PERO RESULTARIA INCREIBLE. QUISIERA QUE SE PUEDA CAMBIAR LOS CONTROLES

Hey, if you press Escape you can see the keyboard keys. Shooting bullets is Return for example.

Okey, muchas gracias por escucharme. Sigue así

Wow, that was quick! Thanks 8)

Well, found the gemstone. I'm a little envious you made this in 4 weeks! I loved the day-night cycle, that added a surprising amount to my enjoyment of the game.

Thanks, man! Glad you finished it. :)
